Pumas have a really good chance to pick up some points against a struggling Necaxa this weekend. After a decent showing in the Apertura for their return to first division soccer, Necaxa have sputtered out of the gate this season, dropping two of their first three games. Pumas on the other hand, have won two of their three games, and are building momentum after a big road win against Leon last week.
Pumas will look to their home crowd for the support and push to grab the win, which could potentially put them at the top of the Liga MX table depending on other results.
Nicolas Castillo and Matias Britos may get their first start together, as the duo has very high expectations. Castillo is returning after a red card suspension, and Britos returned from injury as a sub against Leon. It’ll be interesting to see how Juan Francisco Palencia using Bryan Rabello if Britos claims his starting spot, as Rabello has had a decent start to the Clausura.
Necaxa have struggled in recent years at Estadio Olimpico Universitario, dropping their previous two matches 2-0 each.
