Multiple youth teams pick up wins over the weekend

The cantera had a fantastic weekend, picking up points in several categories. With results like this and a number of players standing out, the future is certainly bright for the Pumas academy.

Pumas Premier (Segunda Division)

Score: Pumas 2-1 Club America

Pumas Premier continue to have an impressive Clausura, this time downing Club America 2-1 on Friday.

After giving up a first half goal, Pumas came back with two second-half goals to complete the comeback and grab three points. Ricardo Jurado and Rafael Cid scored for Pumas. For both players, it was their second goal of the tournament.

After 13 weeks, Pumas Premier sit in second place of the Liga Premier Group 3 table with 27 points.

Pumas U-20

Score: Pumas 3-0 Jaguares

The U-20s got a lopsided 3-0 win over Jaguares with Andres Iniestra, Alan Mozo, and Omar Islas scoring the goals. Goalkeeper Gustavo Alcala was credited with the clean sheet, his second of the tournament.

Islas has five goals in seven games with the U-20s.

After Saturday’s matches, Pumas moved up to seventh in the table, with 19 points.

Pumas U-17

Score: Pumas 4-2 Jaguares

The U-17s earned a nice win after a battle with Jaguares that ended with a 4-2 win. Bryan Falcon, Jacob Morales, and Marco Garcia scored for Pumas, and they earned their fourth goal after an own-goal by Chiapas.

Falcon has four goals in the Clausura, while Morales has six and all of them as a substitute off the bench.

The U-17s are having a stellar tournament, now with 31 points and tied with Monterrey for the top of the league table.

Pumas (Tercera Division)

Score: Pumas 1-2 Guerreros

After grabbing a 1-0 lead in the 61st minute, Pumas gave up two goals and fell to Guerreros on Friday.

Said del Angel scored for Pumas, his 17th in the Tercera Division.

After 31 matches, Pumas are 17-10-4 and have accumulated 58 points. They currently sit sixth in the Group 7 table.
