Pumas goalkeeper Alejandro ‘Pikolin’ Palacios and forward Eduardo Herrera have earned the call to the Mexican National Tteam for their upcoming February 10 friendly against Senegal.
Mexico head coach Juan Carlo Osorio released the roster on Thursday. The players will join up on Sunday, February 7 and head to the United States on Monday to prepare for the game in Miami, Florida.
For Palacios, the call to represent his country is the first of his career. Palacios has been one of the most consistent goalkeepers in Liga MX over the past couple of years, and although likely behind some others at his position, has earned a look from Osorio.
Herrera has been on the fringes of the National Team in the last two years, and unable to solidify his regular spot on the roster despite his statistics proving he’s the most consistent Liga MX striker available.
